Abstract:
To provide an ink fountain capable of stabilizing the amount of discharge of ink to be discharged from the inside of the ink fountain via a gap between an outer circumferential surface of a fountain roller and a blade.SOLUTION: An ink fountain comprises: an ink reservoir 19 capable of storing ink 18 is formed surrounded by an outer circumferential surface 14a of a fountain roller 14, each inner surface of a pair of lateral wall parts and an upper surface 16a of a bottom wall part 16; and a pressure releasing part for releasing a part of pressure of the ink which is about to pass through a minute gap from an upstream side to a downstream side along an outer circumferential surface of the fountain roller upon rotation of the fountain roller, onto at least one of an upstream-side-proximate position and a downstream-proximate position on a side opposite to a side of the upstream-side-proximate position where an ink reservoir is located interposing the gap therebetween in a direction that ink flows via a minute gap 22 between the outer circumferential surface of the fountain roller and an upper end part of a blade 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
