PURPOSE: To suppress the current flowing to a heat generating resistor and to allow a plurality of dots to simultaneously generate heat, by forming the heat generating resistor of an ink jet head from a material bringing the specific resistance of said resistor to a specific value or more.
CONSTITUTION: A glass partial glaze layer 11 and a heat accumulating insulating under coat layer 12 composed of tantalum pentoxide are formed on a substrate 10 molded from alumina. Further, a heat generating resistor 13 having specific resistance of 1mΩcm or more and a conductive layer 14 are laminated and the heat generating resistor 13 at the part having no conductor layer 14 becomes a heat generating part 15. A nozzle orifice 17 is provided to a nozzle plate 16 at the position corresponding to the heat generating part 15 and Ta-Si, Ta- SiO2 or Cr-SiO2 is used in the heat generating resistor 13. By the above mentioned constitution, since the current flowing to the heat generating resistor 13, a plurality of dots can be allowed to generate heat by allowing a current to flow to said dots and a drive circuit shifting current supplying timing is made unnecessary to achieve cost reduction.
