Abstract:
To save consumption power of an ink jet printer.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer (1) is equipped with a head (32) that has a nozzle (33) and a piezoelectric element (321) discharging ink from the nozzle (33), a driving voltage generating portion (80) that generates a driving voltage to be applied to the piezoelectric element (321), a carriage (31) that moves the head (32) and the driving voltage generating portion (80) in a moving direction, and a magnet group (72) that includes multiple magnets aligned in the moving direction. The driving voltage generating portion (80) has a coil (70) that generates electromotive force by interlinking magnetic fluxes of the magnet group (72) with the movement of the carriage (31), and generates the driving voltage by the electromotive force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
