Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an ink by use of which the scope of application of an ink jet printer can be extended to ceramic ware, glass, enamels, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This ink is prepared by mixing at least three components of water or an oil, a metallic pigment which colors and fixes when fired and a dispersant for preventing the metallic pigment from being precipitated. The maximum particle diameter of the metallic pigment is smaller than the bore diameter of the nozzle of an ink jet printer, and the content of the metallic pigment is about 10-20wt.%. This ink is in the state of a liquid usable in an ink jet printer and suffers little from the precipitation of the metallic pigment. Plugging of the nozzle does not occur since the maximum particle diameter of the metallic pigment is smaller than the bore diameter of the nozzle.
