Title:
INK JET PRINTING HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3699175
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the structure of an ink jet printing head compact to enable high-grade printing by providing an ink sump, a plurality of individual ink emitting chambers having the ink emitting elements provided in the respective chambers arranged along the upper surface of the ink sump and the first outer end edge provided along the outer periphery thereof.
SOLUTION: Windows 22, 24 pierce a flexible circuit 18 to expand and are used in order to easily connect the other end of conductive lines to the electrodes of a silicon substrate having heater resistors. A sealant is sealed in the windows 22, 24 to protect the lower layer parts of the lines and the substrate. In a printing cartridge 10, the flexible circuit 18 is bent over the rear edge of the nose of the printing cartridge 10 to expand by the quantity almost half the length of the rear end 25 of the nose. This suspended part of the flexible circuit 18 is required in order to draw around the conductive lines connected to the electrodes of the substrate through the window 22. Contact pads 20 are arranged to the flexible circuit 18 fixed to a wall.
