Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a recorder capable of automatically detecting and correcting a failure or irregularities in ink delivery.
CONSTITUTION: A calibration pattern 32 is recorded on a recording material 41 exclusively used for monitoring at predetermined intervals by recording heads 9C, 9M, 9Y, 9Bk and read by a sensor 31. Based on the read pattern, whether a failure or irregularities in ink delivery occur is judged for every recording head. The result of the judgement is corrected for a recording material exclusively used for recording. Based on the result of the correction, the drive of the recording heads is controlled. In this manner, irregularities are properly corrected, and recording is made in an optimum ink delivery state.
