Abstract:
To provide an ink jet recorder in which the interval between sheets can be set without taking account of the height of a sheet retainer and an image having a good record quality can be obtained by enhancing the hitting accuracy of an ejected ink drop on a recording medium.
The ink jet recorder for recording on a recording medium by ejecting ink while scanning by means of a carriage comprises a sheet retainer for preventing the recording medium from floating, and means for retreating the carriage from the sheet retainer.
