To prevent the penetration of the atmosphere from the vicinity of the engaged part of an ink cartridge and an ink supply needle by providing a packing, which comes into elastic contact with the ink supply needle on the side of the base bottom part of the ink supply needle, at an ink supply port.
Since the bottom part of a packing 4 is protruded from the surface of an ink supply port 1 by slight quantity (g), the protruded part 5 certainly comes into elastic contact with the annular groove 15 of an ink supply needle 2. As a result, the ink supply needle 2 is cut off from the atmosphere on the side of an ink cartridge of a seal part 6 by the seal part 6 and the ink of an ink storage chamber 16. Further, the skirt part 11 of the ink supply needle 2 is cut off from the atmosphere by the taper part 3 of the packing 4 being in close contact with the surface of the ink supply needle 2. On the side of the base part 9 of the ink supply needle, the annular protruded part 5 and the annular groove 15 are elastically engaged to enhance airtightness. Therefore, even if recording operation is interrupted for a long time and ink is stagnated in the ink supply needle 2 for a long time, the amt. of air dissolved in ink is reduced and the generation of an air bubble can be prevented to the utmost.
