Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus comprising an aligning mechanism capable of sealing all nozzle openings of a recording head mounted on a carriage by a capping member.
SOLUTION: A cap holder 24 reciprocally movable by a predetermined amount and movable in the horizontal direction is provided in a cap frame 25 reciprocally movable toward a carriage 1. The cap holder 24 is provided with storing holes for storing cap members 21, 22, 23, and a guide projection 34 having inclined surfaces 34a, 34b to have sliding contact with a positioning guide of the carriage 1 at the time of moving forward. Moreover, cap springs 26, 27, 28 for forcing the cap holder 24 in the forward direction via the cap members 21, 22, 23 are provided so as to provide a capping device 20.
