PURPOSE: To form a recording image of high density without making the diameter and arranging pitch of the emitting nozzles of an ink jet recording head fine or reciprocally moving the recording head at the same place twice or more.

CONSTITUTION: A shaft 105 is fixed to the upper part of a frame 110 becoming a substrate from one end of the frame 110 to the other end thereof and a carriage 103 is held on the shaft 105 in a freely slidable manner. The emitting nozzles having emitting orifices linearly arranged side by side of the first and second recording heads 101, 102 are provided on the upper surface of the carriage 103 in a row almost in parallel to the moving direction of the carriage at an interval of a distance L with a height difference of a distance (d). The height difference of the distance (d) is set so as to mutually fill the gaps between the dots of the dot recording image recorded on paper to be recorded by emitting ink to the paper to be recorded from the emitting nozzles.
