Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out the proper recovering operation and retain the high printing grade even when a recording head or an ink jet cartridge is removed by varying the operation amount and the number of recording operations in the case of sensing the removal.
CONSTITUTION: A piston 52 in a pump is positioned together with a piston shaft 53 at the position A as an upper support in a cylinder 50 before the sucking action. Then the negative pressure is generated in the cylinder by the distance that the piston shaft 53 is moved to the side of a lower support C. Then, when the piston 52 passes the point B, the negative pressure is first applied to the side of a cap 54 abruptly as the peak pressure. After that, while the piston 52 is moved to the position C, the flow of ink is moved into the cylinder 50 continuously until the negative pressure is eliminated by the flow.
