To provide an ink-jet recording head which can prevent crosstalks and clogging of nozzles.
An ink-jet recording head 10 has an ink discharge port 12, a discharge chamber 16 communicated to the ink discharge port 12, a sealing liquid 20 for sealing the ink discharge port 12, an ink discharge means 18 for discharging an ink 22 from the ink discharge port 12 according to image signals, and a nozzle plate 14 with the ink discharge port 12. The nozzle plate 14 has a layered structure of a substrate 14a part of which forms the discharge chamber 16 and a layer 14b which is repellent to ink and affinitive to the sealing liquid. The ink-jet recording head is formed by piercing the discharge port 12 after forming the layer 14b onto the substrate 14a.
