To realize high speed high resolution printing by stabilizing ink flow from a liquid channel to an ejection opening and the ejecting direction of ink from the ejection opening.
A second board 34 having an orifice part 36 is bonded onto a first board 32 provided with an electrothermal converter 31 generating thermal energy for ejecting ink. The second board 34 is provided with a groove at a position corresponding to the electrothermal converter 31 and a liquid channel 42 is formed when the second board 34 is bonded to the first board 32. An ejection opening 30 communicating with the liquid channel 42 is formed an orifice plate part 36 by projecting a laser beam from the liquid channel 42 side. The groove in the second board 34 is shaped such that the wall part thereof is not irradiated with a laser beam even if it is projected in parallel with the central axis the liquid channel 42 and the ejection opening 30 is formed by projecting the laser beam in parallel with the liquid channel.
