Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material and an ink jet recording method for both a dye ink and a pigment ink which have excellent ozone resistance and water resistance of an image printed with a dye ink and have excellent scratch resistance of an image printed with a pigment ink, and have excellent ink absorbency of both of the inks.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording material for both a dye ink and a pigment ink has at least: an ink receiving layer mainly containing inorganic fine particles having an average secondary particle size of 500 nm or less on a support body; and a surface layer mainly containing core-shell type emulsion formed of an acrylic resin and an urethane resin on the ink receiving layer. A contact angle at the time 0.1 second after dropping when 2 μl of distilled water has been dropped on the surface layer is 65° to 80°, and a contact angle at the time 30 seconds after dropping is 60° to 75° .
