Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the reasonable execution of pre-discharge and sucking recovery for maintaining the reliability of a print head by a method wherein the timing for sucking recovery action or for pre-discharge action is automatically set on the basis of the charge of the temperature in a print head and the number of discharge times of ink.
SOLUTION: An environmental temperature detecting means 39 for detecting the ambient temperature of a print head 34 is provided. A temperature detecting means 33 may well be not always directly provided on the print head 34 itself and may well be provided at any place, at which the temperature of the print head 34 can be presupposedly judged at all times at every detection. The main scanning with an ink jet cartridge 11 through a carriage 12 is performed by controlling the driving of a carriage driving motor 21 by means of a print controlling means 35. During the main scanning, ink is discharged for printing from the print head 34 in the predetermined timing. In addition, the medium feeding is performed by the driving of a medium feeding motor 17 per one scanning of the print on a print medium 16 in a main scanning.
