PURPOSE: To obtain an ink jet sheet where a high-quality image is printed at a high speed.

CONSTITUTION: The two-tier coated layer of an intermediate coat layer and an ink-receptive coat layer is provided on the surface of a base sheet, and these two layers contain 50-95wt.% of pigment and 5-50wt.% of water-soluble adhesive as main ingredients respectively. in addition, 20-95wt.% of an intermediate coat layer and the solid portion of a water-soluble adhesive represent a grafted starch or an esterified starch. Further, the water-soluble adhesive of the ink-receptive coat layer contains 5-50wt.% of grafted starch or 50-95wt.% of polyvinylalcohol for the solid portion of an adhesive. The two layers are provided within a range of 1-10g/m2 respectively. Thus, it is possible to provide an ink jet sheet on which a high-quality image can be printed at a high speed ad the satisfactory diameter of dot can be obtained without irregular ink absorption.
