This ink jet type recorder has a control part 8 for controlling operation of a recording head 21, a carrier roller 19, and a cutter device 2, and can perform recording by an interlacing recording method. The control part 8 controls the cut operation in the middle of recording. When controlling the cut operation in the middle of recording, a cutter moving speed at cut operation performing time is regulated on the upper limit in the size for causing no positional dislocation of the recording object material by the cut operation, and is regulated so as to become 10 sec or less in recording interrupting time caused by the cut operation on the basis of the cutter moving speed.
