Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an ink from oozing out of the side of the rear end part of a stencil base paper installed on a plate cylinder.
SOLUTION: The peripheral wall 2 of the plate cylinder 4 has a printing region 20 having holes 18 and non-printing regions 22 surrounding the printing region 20. An ink shielding member 30, which is located in the rear of the printing region on the rotating direction R of the plate cylinder 4, has a base member 31 and a convering member 32. The base member 31 has rectangular side piece parts 35 in the non-printing regions at its both ends and a plurality of nearly triangular piece parts 34 on the printing region. In a pocket part 37 lying between the piece part 34 and the side piece part 35, opening parts 40 are bored in the non-printing region and a stopping piece part 42 is provided at the front edge of the covering member. In printing, the ink flowing in the spaces 36 between the piece parts 34 is pressed by the covering member 32 pressed by a press roll so as to be sent back inside the plate cylinder 4 through the opening parts 18. Since the stopping piece part comes into contact with the surface of the plate cylinder so as to close the pocket part 37, the ink in the pocket part 37 does not leak outside and is sent back inside the plate cylinder 4 through the opening parts 40. Thus, no ink leaks to the outer peripheral surface side of the ink shielding member 30.
