PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for an ink used exclusively for a leading mark, by providing an ink paper with a leading mark constituted of the same ink as a printing ink, either before an ink for the first printing in recording one image or after an ink for the last printing in recording the image.
CONSTITUTION: An ink paper 1 for color images is provided with printing regions 6W8 of yellow Ye, magenta Mg and cyan Cy arranged successively in the order of colors for printing, with a transparent region 5 between each adjacent pair of the printing regions, to constitute a printing frame. Between the frame and the next frame, line-form marker regions, i.e., Ye, Mg and Cy markers 2W4 are provided successively in the same color order as that of the printing regions 6W8, with a transparent region 5 provided between each adjacent pair of the markers. The head position of the frame is detected by a detecting means 67 through a combination of an output 24 from a sensor R which is turned OFF only at the time of a Cy ink and an output 25 from a sensor G which is turned OFF only at the time of an Mg ink. Thus, an ink used exclusively for a leader mark is not required, an ink paper can be constructed inexpensively, and ink papers differing in the order of printing can be used.
