Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a proper volume of ink to the inside of an ink reservoir even when electrostatic capacity per unit volume of ink changes, in response to change of surrounding environment such as temperature and humidity, change of ink itself by time passing, and type of ink. SOLUTION: A device for supplying ink is provided with an upper and lower position changing mechanism 24 that changes upward and downward a detection electrode 23 that is placed in the inside of an ink reservoir 13 and detects the electrostatic capacity of ink equivalent to the ink volume by being inserted into the ink inside of the ink reservoir 13. By changing the detection electrode 23 upward and downward depending on the situation, the mechanism 24 can supply ink properly based on the detection result by the detection electrode 23 even when the electrostatic capacity per the unit volume of ink differs, and can prevent indistinct print pictures due to a shortage of the ink volume in the inside of the ink reservoir 13 and an overflow of ink in the inside of the ink reservoir 13 due to too much increase in the ink volume in the inside of the ink reservoir 13.
