To provide a printing device capable of appropriately transporting an ink ribbon between a supply roll and a winding roll in which the ink ribbon is released and wound in bidirection while simplifying its construction.
A printing device 1 comprises: a supply roll 4; a winding roll 5; and a diving power transmitting mechanism 31 transmitting diving power from a drive source 30 to the supply roll 4 and the winding roll 5. In a case where a direction in which the winding roll 5 winds the ink ribbon is defined as a ribbon winding direction and a direction in which the supply roll 4 winds the ink ribbon 3 is defined as a ribbon rewinding direction, the diving power transmitting mechanism 31 comprises: one way clutch which transmits diving power from drive source 30 in the ribbon winding direction to the winding roll 5 and interrupts transmission of diving power from the drive source 30 in the ribbon rewinding direction to the winding roll 5; and one way clutch which transmits diving power from drive source 30 in the ribbon rewinding direction to the supply roll 4 and interrupts transmission of diving power from the drive source 30 in the ribbon winding direction to the supply roll 4.
