To provide an ink sheet for thermal transfer recording in which outstanding color reproductivity, picture storage stability, and transfer consistency in a printing sample can be realized, and storage stability with time is high.
A pigment supporting layer of the ink sheet for thermal transfer recording contains a pigment of formula (1), a pigment of formula (2) or the like. In the formula (1), R11-R18 denote a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent respectively independently, and R17 and R18 may form a ring structure joining together with a nitrogen atom. In the formula (2), R21, R22, R23 and R24 denote a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent respectively independently, and R24 denotes a substituted or not substituted 1-8C alkyl group.
