PURPOSE: To obtain an ideally finished printed matter by a method wherein an ink supply means is actuated correspondingly to the output of a counter counting detection signals of a sensor detecting holes of stencil paper, ink presence/absence information, and an optimum combination condition of printing speed information and an ink amount.
CONSTITUTION: In a mimeographic press comprising a plate making device having a thermal head for perforating stencil paper 1, a plate cylinder rotated by a main motor 13, and an ink basin part 4 formed in the plate cylinder, a sensor 2 detecting holes 8 of the stencil paper 1 and outputting detection signals with transport of the stencil paper 1 and an ink detection circuit 5 detecting the presence/absence of ink in the ink basin part 4 are provided. A control means 7 controls the supply of ink by actuating an ink supply means 16 correspondingly to the output of a sensor 3 counting detection signals of the sensor 2, ink presence/absence information, the remainder number of copies calculated from the required number of copies, and an optimum combination condition of printing speed information and an ink amount.
