The ink supply method comprises a density reading process for reading density data obtained by measuring the concentration of a detected patch in a first image, the first computing process for computing the ink supply film thickness after printing a printed matter having the first image from the density data, the second computing process for computing the ink supply film thickness necessary for printing a printed matter having the second image from a target density of the printed matter having the second image, the third computing process for computing the supply amount of the ink for the presetting in printing the printed matter having the second image from the ink supply film thickness after printing the printed matter having the first image computed in the first computing process and from the ink supply film thickness necessary for printing the printed matter having the second image computed in the second computing process, and an ink supply process for supplying ink for presetting based on the ink supply quantity computed in the third computing process.
