PURPOSE: To obtain a good detailed pattern having no pinhole by preventing that air (bubble) is drawn in the ink entering the cells of an image line part.

CONSTITUTION: The image line part 7a of an intaglio 7 is covered with a cover 11 to be hermetically closed and air is sucked from this hermetically closed space 18 by a vacuum means 13 to be removed from cells (c). Thereafter, defoamed ink (e) is supplied to the image line part 7a within the hermetically closed space 18 by an ink supply means 15 while the hermetically closed space 18 is held to low atmospheric pressure to introduce the ink containing no air into the cells (c) free from air.
