PURPOSE: To reduce the control energy of printing by adding cellulose nitrate, of which the decomposition temp. is adjusted to 100-150°C by a catalytic additive, to an ink layer or a separation layer as a decomposable component that promotes the transfer of a dye upon the application of heat.
CONSTITUTION: A support layer 2 is coated with an ink layer 3 containing a dye bonded within wax and/or a thermoplastic resin and cellulose nitrate being a component decomposed upon the application of heat. The decomposition temp. of cellulose nitrate is adjusted to about 130-140°C or 110-130°C by adding 1-20 wt.% amidosulfonic acid or toluol-4-sulfonic acid as a catalytic additive. When cellulose nitrate is heated to decomposition temp., it discharges additional heat and generates gas (CO2, CO, N2, H2) to be decomposed explosively. The ink layer 3 is melted by heat and the generated gas bonds molten ink particles to a recording support by high kinetic energy.
