To provide an inkjet recorder wherein the driving waveform applied to a drive element can be adjusted easily according to the discharge characteristics of a plurality of ink discharge ports, and to provide a driving method for an inkjet head.
When an ink droplet is discharged from an ink discharge port by driving the drive element provided to correspond with the pressure chamber to be filled with ink thereby producing a pressure variation of ink in the pressure chamber, the rising waveform and falling waveform of the driving waveform are output at the rising timing of the pulses P1-P4 of a drive timing control signal T2 and applied to the drive element. The rising waveform and falling waveform are formed based on the preset rising time, falling time and peak value, and the driving waveform is formed so that a potential V1 corresponding to the peak value may be maintained between both waveforms.
