To provide an inkjet recorder which can provide a high precision image by preventing oscillation of a carriage during its reciprocation.
The inkjet recorder 15 has: a carriage 17 having a recording head to discharge ink and a sliding part in its upper part; a shaft 16 supporting the carriage 17 so as to be reciprocatable in its shaft direction and rotatable; and a rail 26 guiding movement of the carriage 17 so that the carriage 17 reciprocates along the shaft 16 while contacting with the sliding member and preventing the oscillation of the carriage 17. A straitening plate 9B which generates an air stream C to give torque in one direction to the carriage 17 so that a contact state between the rail 26 and the sliding part is maintained during the reciprocating movement of the carriage 17, is provided in the recorder 15.
