To provide an inkjet recording apparatus decreasing an error between an amount of consumption of ink recognized by a recording apparatus and an amount of consumption actually consumed, and to provide a method for calculating the amount of consumption of the ink.

When the amount of consumption of the ink is calculated by a recording apparatus, by using a rank of the amount of suction indicating much or little of the amount of suction caused by individual differences of the apparatus to be the amount of suction, the error between the amount of consumption of the ink recognized by the recording apparatus and the amount of consumption actually consumed is decreased.
