To provide an inkjet recording device which has no possibility of soiling a recording medium caused by discarded ink when a leading end, a trailing end and both of the recording medium are printed without leaving a margin and which prevents a deterioration in printing quality by securely regulating the position of a recording material during printing.

The inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head 1 having a nozzle array 2 with arranged many nozzles in a sub scanning direction, a platen 3 provided opposed to the recording head and regulating the position of the recording medium, a paper feeding roller 8 and a paper discharging roller 9. A first hole 11 is arranged on the surface of the platen 3 at a portion opposite to a downstream-side portion of the nozzle array in the sub scanning direction and the platen is formed so as to guide the ink 12 discarded deflecting from the leading end to the first hole when the leading end 7 of the recording medium is printed without leaving the margin. A second hole 13 is provided for the trailing end 14 of the recording paper.
