To provide a method for suppressing the nozzle drying of a recording head with moistened air.
The moisture content of a sheet is increased by feeding a first moistened air to the sheet which is carried from a first feeding port. At the same time, the atmospheric humidity of a space is increased by feeding a second moistened air to the space where the nozzle of the inkjet recording head is exposed from a second feeding port which is installed at a position being closer to the inkjet recording head than that of the first feeding port. An area of the sheet of which the moisture content has been increased is made to advance into the space of which the atmospheric humidity has been increased, and recording is performed by the inkjet recording head. Since the sheet does not absorb moisture in the space, the humidity of the space is maintained, and the moisture keeping of the nozzle is surely performed.
