Title:
INLET SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3436766
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent volumetric efficiency from lowering and reduce smoke by constituting a resonant inlet system with cylinders whose air inlet order does not continue and making the resonance tuning revolution of the resonant inlet system with rated revolution where the maximum power of an internal combustion engine can be obtained.
CONSTITUTION: In the inlet system of an internal combustion engine, for example, in-line six cylinder diesel engine, a resonant inlet system 1 is constituted with cylinders whose inlet order does not continue connected. The resonance tuning revolution of the resonant inlet system 1 is constituted so as to coincide with the rated revolution at which the maximum power of the internal combustion engine may obtained. For example, inlet air is equally distributed by arranging inlet covers 9 and 10, which are connected to the respective inlet ports 8, to front side cylinders 2 to 4 and rear side cylinders 5 to 7. Resonant supercharging pipes 11 and 12 are connected to the center sections of the inlet covers 9 and 10, and the upper stream sides of these pipes 11 and 12 are connected to one inlet pipe 14 collected into a pressure inversion section 13 for resonance.
