Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing an inorganic compound-coated steel product having an inorganic compound coating layer with lower apparent diffusion coefficient compared to that of a conventional corrosion protective coated steel product and having excellent chloride ion barrier property under a high salt environment such as the ocean.

The inorganic compound coating layer is formed by bringing a melted inorganic compound containing sulfur into contact with a base steel directly or through an intermediate layer and after keeping the inorganic compound in the molten state for a fixed time, cooling and solidifying the inorganic compound.
