PURPOSE: To facilitate the registration of input items by reading the input item described at a prescribed position corresponding to the input item display position of a display device with an image reader.
CONSTITUTION: An operator depresses the image data input key 34a of a function keyboard 34 to set an input device in an item data register mode. Then the operator scans and reads the input item described on a sheet P whose storage position is designated with a ruled line, etc., with use of an image reader 40. In this case, the describing position of the sheet P is decided by the size of the reader 40 and the input item display position of a display device 20, etc. In addition, the read starting and ending positions of the sheet P are previously decided to the reader 40 so that the description of the sheet P is display as it is as the input item of the device 20. Thus the display item data can be easily and quickly inputted.
