To provide an input device from which a communication cable for connecting a host device is eliminated and which improves the operability of a pointing device.

A loop-like antenna 11 is circularly arranged near the base of the inner part of a mouse constituting the input device in parallel to the base. Loop-like antennas 21 and 22 are arranged in a disk 2 constituting the input device with the mouse 1. A cable 3 is connected to the circuit part 22 of the disk 2 and it transmits/receives data between the input device and the host device. The signals of a displacement amount in the direction of an X-axis and a displacement amount in the direction of Y-axis when the operator moves the mouse 1 on the disk 2 are transmitted to the disk 2 by electromagnetically connecting the loop-like antennas 11 and 21.
