PURPOSE: To select freely an input format by providing a machine-interface CRT display unit with a group of multi-item imput character keys and a memory unit which selects them to obtain several pieces of picture information and then holds them together with keys.
CONSTITUTION: This unit consists of central processor 1, ROM2 as a memory unit stored with programs, characters, symbols, patterns, etc., RAM3 stored with display items for layout and guidance areas on the screen, CRT picture display element 4, CRT controller 5, dot counter 6, clock oscillator 7, multiplexer 8, refresh memroy 9, character generator 10, parallel-series converter 11, video controller 12, touch panel 13 with X and Y coordinate detection surfaces 14 and 15, and position signal generator 16.
