Abstract:

PURPOSE: To evade a network overload, while maintaining effective use of a broadband bit network and an input terminal to the network. CONSTITUTION: Terminals 1 and 2, which handle at least one virtual channel, send a request for transmission to the network over the virtual channel to the network 20. In response to this message 10, the network 20 returns a message 11 showing acceptance or rejection. In case of acceptance, the terminal 1 sets the virtual channel, and when a processor means 5 of the network 20 detects an overload, the processor means 5 sends a slowdown message 8 to the corresponding virtual channel. With this message, a terminal 11 reduces the transmission rate.
