PURPOSE: To easily input the positional information of a destination to a navigation apparatus by obtaining the absolute coordinate of the representative point of the section area of an atlas, superposing it on the atlas, and inputting the positional information of a designated point from a transparent tablet.

CONSTITUTION: A CPU 11 converts the positional information of four corners to absolute coordinates by using the absolute coordinates of the representative point of a sectional area. Then, the position of the destination is input from above a transparent tablet 14 with a pen. The CPU 11 calculates the absolute coordinates of the destination based on the absolute coordinates of the four corners and the positional information of the destination from the tablet 14. Then, the absolute coordinate data of the destination is transferred to a navigation apparatus 20 by using a signal converter 17 and a transmitter 18. The apparatus 20 receives the transferred data at a receiver 23, demodulates them and stores them in a memory 24. The CPU 211 of a controller 21 searches the traveling route from the present position to the destination designated by the absolute coordinates stored in the memory 24 by using the data stored in a data memory 25, and guides the route.
