Abstract:
To provide a device for one-handed insertion of a guide wire into a vessel or cavity.SOLUTION: A device comprises a body and an actuator carriage. The body includes a grip and an attachment for a syringe, and the actuator carriage includes a trigger, a flange restraint part, a guide, a wire feed surface, a wire guide feed attachment and a receiving part. When the grip part is engaged by a plurality of fingers of one hand, one finger of the one hand engages a wire between the one finger of the one hand and the wire feed surface to advance the wire through the syringe so as to sense a degree of resistance received by a tip of the wire, and another finger of the one hand rearward and/or forward presses the trigger of the actuator carriage to rearward and/or forward pull the plunger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
