PURPOSE: To easily obtain at low cost the subject powder useful for improving e.g. the moisture releasability/absorbability of synthetic resin films, etc., by bringing gelatin or glue powder into contact with a crosslinking agent kept in a fluid state.
CONSTITUTION: The objective product with its surface crosslinked can be obtained by bringing solid gelatin powder (pref. ≤12 mesh) or glue powder into contact with a crosslinking agent (e.g. formalin, alum) kept in a fluid state. concretely, for example, gelatin powder is treated in an atmosphere of formalin vapor at normal temperatures to 80°C for 1 to 7 days. It is preferable that the crosslink rate for the gelatin powder be set at such a level that the gelatin dissolved in warm water at normal temperatures to 70°C account for 20wt.% of the total gelatin powder after agitation for 10 min in the warm water.
