Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting a lithium ion secondary battery, by which the location of an active material layer out of position can be pinpointed readily.SOLUTION: A method for inspecting a lithium ion secondary battery 1 including: a power storage body 11 arranged by laminating a positive electrode part 12 having a positive electrode active material layer 14 provided on a principal face 13a a positive electrode sheet 13, and a negative electrode part 17 having a negative electrode active material layer 19 provided on a principal face 18a of a negative electrode sheet 18 in a positive electrode sheet thickness direction Z; and an outer packaging body 26 for encasing the power storage body, in which indexes different from each other in an image obtained by exposure to X-rays R are different from each other are formed on the positive and negative electrode parts, and the plurality of indexes are determined in advance comprises the steps of: applying the lithium ion secondary battery with X-rays; detecting the location of each index; identifying at least one of the positive and negative electrode parts corresponding to the index; and inspecting the lithium ion secondary battery for any combination of the positive and negative electrode parts adjacent to each other in the thickness direction to see that the positive electrode active material layer of the positive electrode part is located inward of an outer edge 19a of the negative electrode active material layer of the negative electrode part when viewed from the thickness direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
