PURPOSE: To provide an installation for producing liquid metal in which a dangerous state of forming toxic products is made minimum and a high productivity is attained.

CONSTITUTION: There are provided an electric melting furnace 2 having a consumable electrodes 5 for melting scrap loads 7 and which can be closed by a removable roof 23; a pre-heating chamber 1 for pre-heating scrap loads; and a main circuit 6 having polluted substance removing device 61 and removing high temperature gas and flue gases. The pre-heating chamber 1 is provided with a burner 4, there is provided an auxiliary processing circuit for processing gases generated at the pre-heating chamber 1 under less-generated state, and then a combustion chamber 31 for processing polluted substances is installed at the auxiliary processing circuit. The flue gases generated under melting of the scrap loads are fed directly into the main circuit.
