Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure an ascending speed and a descending speed of a meteorological subject, without being affected by a shift in a flying direction and a shift in a beam emitting angle, when the ascending speed and the descending speed of the meteorological subject such as rain, snow and cloud is measured using a pulse-pair type Doppler radar from a flying body.
SOLUTION: This measuring instrument is provided with a means for conducting orthogonal detection of a reflected electromagnetic wave, a means for calculating a conjugate product of the first-pulse reflected electromagnetic wave after the orthogonal detection and the second-pulse reflected electromagnetic wave after the orthogonal detection to calculate a phase change resulting from the meteorological subject, and to calculate a phase change resulting from a ground surface, and a means for calculating the shift in the beam emitting angle of a pulse-paired transmitted electromagnetic wave based on the calculated phase change resulting from the ground surface to measure the speed of the meteorological subject based on the calculated shift angle and the calculated phase change resulting from the meteorological subject.
