Title:
INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN FURNACE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11230834
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for measuring temperature distribution in furnace body which is used for estimating and recognizing the remaining states, abnormal wear and tear, etc., of refractories in a furnace body, by measuring the temperature distribution in each section of the furnace body.

A device for measuring temperature distribution in furnace body is provided with a first metallic tube 10 which is laid in the refractories 2 of the furnace body of a furnace, or at the boundary between the refractories 2 and the shell 1 of the furnace, or on the surface of the shell 1 in such a state that one or both ends of the tube 10 are opened to the outside of the furnace; a second metallic tube 11 inserted into the tube 10; an optical fiber 12 inserted into the tube 11; a laser light incidence means 13 which makes laser light incident to the fiber 12 from one end; a scattered light detecting means 13 which detects the scattered light generated in the fiber 12; and a signal processor 35 which calculates the temperature at each position in the fiber 12 from the intensity of the detected scattered light. The fiber 12 is coated with such a material that sublimates at a fixed temperature or higher, and a gas passing means which makes an inert gas flow through the second metallic tube 11 from one end is provided in the tube 11.
