Title:
INSTRUMENT AND METHOD FOR MEASURING FURNACE WIDTH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3965032
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace width measuring instrument requiring no cooling water piping, and capable of resisting a high temperature within a time required to insert the measuring instrument to a furnace, to conduct measurement in the furnace and to extract the measuring instrument from the furnace, in order to measure easily and quickly the furnace width inside a furnace chamber at a high temperature such a carbonizing chamber in a coke oven.
SOLUTION: In this furnace width measuring instrument for measuring the width between furnace walls facing each other, a measuring unit 2 for measuring the furnace width has a furnace width measuring instrument 8 and an electric power source 10, the unit 2 is stored in a heat absorbing box 3 having a heat absorbing ability, and an outside of the heat absorbing box 3 is covered by a heat insulation material 4. The heat absorbing box 3 is jacket filled with a liquid 7 having a heat absorbing ability, and the liquid 7 is preferably water. The measuring unit 2 has also a wireless transmission transmitter 18 for transmitting a furnace width-measured data to an external data storage device 22, or a data storage device 9. A discharge port 23 for discharging the liquid 7 is provided in a lower part of the box 3.
