Title:
INSTRUMENT FOR SIMPLY MEASURING APPLIED QUANTITY OF LIQUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3863860
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for simply measuring the applied quantity of a liquid applied to a flat plate.
SOLUTION: The instrument has a shape similar to a watch glass and a dimension gripped in one hand or both hands. An outer peripheral face of the watch glass is a liquid contact face 3 and contacts an oil 2 applied to the flat plate 1. An inner peripheral face of the watch glass is a scale face 4 and provided with a scale 5. The watch glass is made of glass, has a uniform refractive index, is placed on the flat plate 1 on which the oil 2 is applied and lightly pressed so as to bring a region having a local minimal value of the outer peripheral face 3 (the most protruding point of the outer peripheral face 3) into contact with the flat plate 1. A contact area between the outer peripheral face 3 and the oil 2 is changed by a applied thickness of the oil 2. As the applied thickness of the oil 2 increases, the contact area between the oil 2 increases. There is a regular relationship between the applied thickness and the contact area. The applied thickness (the applied quantity) of the oil 2 is found by measuring the contact area of the oil 2. A diameter can substitute for the contact area.
