Title:
FLAME/SMOKE-INSULATING CLOTH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3484162
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame/smoke-insulating cloth comprising a refractory cloth composed of a glass fiber cloth as a substrate, capable of being used for a refractory screen, etc., and especially capable of satisfying flame/smoke- insulating performance required by the Building Standards Act.
SOLUTION: This flame/smoke-insulating cloth is obtained by using the glass fiber cloth which contains silicon dioxide in an high content as the substrate, applying an intermediate coated layer of a non-flame-resistant resin to at least one of both surfaces of the cloth, and further coating the intermediate coated layer with a silicone resin to form a surface layer, or obtained by coating at least one of both surfaces of the glass fiber cloth with a mixture which comprises the non-flame-resistant resin and a metal hydroxide or a mineral to form the surface layer. An ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is preferably exemplified as the resin. Magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide are preferably exemplified as the metal hydroxide, respectively.
