Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely secure vertical swirl by suppressing disturbance in intake air stream and prevent any increase in an intake air resistance at the time of high speed operation and the like.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided an intake valve opening 10a communicated to an intake port 10, and opened to a combustion chamber 9, an intake valve 12 which opens and closes the intake valve opening 10a, an intake air control valve 21 rotatably arranged in the vicinity of the intake valve opening 10a of the intake port 10, and an escape groove 21b formed on the intake control valve 21 and in which the valve stem 12a of the intake valve 12 outers. The intake air control valve 21 is selectly turned to move to the position where the cross-sectional area of the intake port 10 is throttle and the position where it retreats inside the wall of the intake port 10.
