To provide an intake manifold for an internal combustion engine, capable of improving gastightness between a valve body and an intake air passage wall for surrounding the valve body by using synthetic resin as main material, restraining a friction torque at the time of driving the valve body, improving output torque characteristics for the internal combustion engine, and providing size reduction for a driving means for opening and closing the valve body.
This valuable intake air length intake manifold for the internal combustion engine comprises a first capacity chamber which is disposed on a downstream side of a throttle valve for controlling the flow rate of intake air passing through an air cleaner, a first independent intake air passages which are branched from the first capacity chamber and guide the air in the first capacity chamber to respective cylinders, a second independent intake air passages which join and communicate with the respective first independent intake air passages provided for each cylinder, and a second capacity chamber which is communicated with all the second independent intake air passages, and the valve body which is provided in the second independent intake air passages for communicating and cutting off the second capacity chamber with the first independent intake air passages. The first independent intake air passages and the first capacity chamber for the intake manifold are formed out of a plurality of synthetic resin form members, and the second independent intake air passages part which surrounds the valve body is formed out of a different synthetic resin form member from the synthetic resin form member which forms the first capacity chamber and the first independent intake air passages.
