Abstract:

PURPOSE: To correct leaning of air/fuel ratio and to improve the acceleration performance by increasing the fuel supply to engine by predetermined amount through a dedicated device when switching the intake path between low load and heavy load and increasing the intake air under acceleration of engine.

CONSTITUTION: First linear intake path 10 is connected to an intake port 5 where the end section is connected to a damper chamber 11 while a branch port 12 is formed at the intermediate section. A path changeover valve 13 is provided at the branch port 12 when one end of second curved intake path 14 is connected. Under this arrangement, an intake air flow signal from an air flow meter 18 and an engine rotation signal from a rotation sensor 21 are provided to a control unit 19. Said unit 19 will control the fuel injection through fuel injection valve 9 with correspondence to the operating condition of engine 1 while to control the path changeover valve 13 through variable control section 20.
